Chapter 7 – Elemental argument

Crunch was stumped. What could he really do about this? Simply just wipe out the humans, so there won’t be continuous trouble? No, he thought. He just didn’t think that was possible… or the right decision for that matter. But he still knew something had to be done. He then remembered something Brio had mentioned, nature… maybe the elementals could help with some of the answers.

He placed out his wrist, and closed his eyes to focus… before the shining lights came out and released the 4 elementals. He opened his eyes again and saw all 4 of the masks staring right at him

“About time we get some fresh air!”

“I say, nothing good like a bit of mah fresh air, heh!”

Lo-lo said, right after Rok-ko. Crunch could only glare back at them with a slight grin.

“Sorry guys… I just haven’t really found the right time to let you all out. But, I wanted to try discussing something with you…”

“It’s got to do with our playground, doesn’t it?”

Py-ro asked Crunch, with a slightly sinister tone of voice. Crunch looked at him oddly

“Playground?”

Oh, I mean Earth. We can often feel your thoughts you know… even if you don’t connect with us, heh”

“Oh, I see then. Well, yeah… it does have to do with that. And by the way, I don’t see this planet as a ‘playground’. I see it as a… home, to many different species.”

“Well, it still is OUR battlefield… not the human’s battlefield!”

Rok-ko yelled, right after Crunch. He then looked at them again, with a slightly annoyed expression

“So this is why Aku-aku doesn’t like you guys being free… because you cause too much natural destruction!?”

“Hey! We don’t only do it for fun… well err, not most of the time. Sometimes we do it to keep things ‘balanced’, ya know? Like when a species starts to overpopulate and cause too much damage to the landscape…”

“Yeah, like those… strange giant lizard creatures, forgot what you people of this age called them”

Rok-ko said right after Py-ro. Crunch now had a surprised expression.

“What, you mean the Dinosaurs? Wow, so you guys caused their extinction!? And now that I remember… someone said you guys also caused the Ice Ages”

“Yes, it was us… though we didn’t purposely kill them off. There was just too many of them, and after those rocks from out of space landed… we had a lot of cleaning up to do! And through the changes, they all eventually were wiped out. We even saw the first furry critters… slowly rise, heh. I don’t remember all though. It’s been years and years…”

“Oh ok then, that makes sense now… but there is a reason I need to talk with you lot. It’s about, the current state of the world. Do any of you know what we could do about it?”

Crunch asked them, and now the 4 masks seemed to have gone silent.

“Well young warrior… you are, after all… OUR Sarge. Our Guardian. But in all honesty, the world it nothing like we expected last time we got our freedom! It’s a disaster zone if you ask me!!!”

Shouted Wa-wa, slightly startling Crunch… as he hasn’t heard the water elemental say anything yet.

“You really think so…? Are you all really willing to help… fix the world, for its own good? I keep hearing that if you guys were ever free again though, that you will all cause major natural disasters… killing many in the process… you guys wouldn’t kill for no reason… now that I am your leader, right?”

“Hey now… don’t have sympathy for those who have literately POISONED this ‘precious’ planet. You’re starting to sound a bit like Aku aku! I say we should just kill off the wretched primates that are causing all these problems in the first place; we ARE among the ones who helped build this earth… the elementals, dammit!”

Py-ro roared in fury, which even surprised Crunch… while the others seemed to be silent, but seemed to agree with him too.
